Why everyone keeps coming back.

Nestled in the charming Bang Muang area of Takua Pa District, Maeya Restaurant (ครัวแม่ย่า) is a true culinary gem that showcases authentic Thai flavors crafted with heart and care. This unpretentious eatery offers a delightful escape into the tastes of Southern Thailand, where every dish bursts with freshness and traditional spirit. From the moment you arrive, the warm hospitality of the family-run kitchen envelops you, making every guest feel like part of a close-knit community.

Maeya's menu impresses with its rich variety, catering wonderfully to vegetarians and vegans without compromising on flavor. Standout dishes mentioned by delighted diners include the velvety vegetarian Panang curry, crispy and light veg tempura appetizers, and the piquant, zesty spicy mango salad. For meat lovers, the chicken cashew stir-fry and succulent shrimp in tamarind sauce offer classic yet vibrantly seasoned options that highlight the region's culinary prowess. Each plate arrives beautifully presented, teasing your senses before the first bite. The ingredients are remarkably fresh—ranging from crisp garden vegetables to herbs that sing with aroma—elevating familiar dishes into memorable dining experiences.

Beyond the food, guests frequently rave about the delightful smoothies, which provide a refreshing, tropical counterpoint to the rich, spicy dishes. The setting itself is cozy and unpretentious, bordered by a blooming flower garden, lending a relaxed and peaceful vibe that invites you to linger. Whether you're stopping by for a leisurely lunch or a sunset dinner, the intimate atmosphere and attentive, kind-hearted staff—especially hosts Dee Dy and Kong—make each visit feel special.

Moreover, Maeya Restaurant’s commitment to genuine hospitality shines through in little thoughtful gestures, from helping visitors with transport arrangements to cracking fresh coconuts right off the tree. This level of care leaves a lasting impression, turning first-time diners into loyal patrons eager to return.

In essence, Maeya Restaurant stands out as a beacon of authentic Thai cuisine in Phang Nga, blending impeccable flavors, fresh ingredients, and heartfelt service. Whether you're a vegetarian seeking diverse options or a flavorful meat lover, this inviting spot promises an unforgettable culinary journey steeped in tradition and warmth.

This was some of the best Thai food we had during our 2-week stay in Thailand! I am a vegetarian and there were plenty of options for me (everything could be made vegan too). The ingredients were fresh and the presentation was lovely. The smoothies were incredible! The staff was kind and made great suggestions. We enjoyed dining here so much that we returned while staying in the area.

We really enjoyed our dinner here. Such a great place for vegetarians – we had 2 veg folks in our group, and were looking for a place in the area with good vegetarian options. Based on other reviews, we chose Maeya, and it was excellent. We got vegetarian Panang curry, veg tempura appetizer, spicy mango salad, as well as chicken cashew and shrimp in tamarind sauce – all super delicious and fresh. The staff was also really kind and accommodating, and the owner told us she hopes to be known for her vegetarian cooking. Highly recommend!!!

Absolutely love this place. Incredible food in unpretentious surroundings. Thai food is generally great everywhere we’ve eaten but this place was top notch. The owner was lovely and even gave us a life back to our hotel as it was raining! 100% recommend.

Great food and people. Dee Dy and Kong are lovely hosts. The food is fantastic and the prices are surprisingly cheap. We came with bikes for lunch (from Marriott) but if you call, Dee Dy will organize transfer with a taxi. The place is clean and along the road within a flower garden, if you order coconuts they will cut it right from the tree. Highly recommend a visit.

This is the best restaurant in the area. Real Thai food made by real Thai people. The family who runs it are extremely nice and humble. I have eaten here twice, and both times the food was perfect and the service stellar.

We had a fantastic meal at Maeya Restaurant. The food was authentic Thai, freshly prepared and tasty. It was raining so the restaurant was relatively quiet, hence the lower score for atmosphere. It’s a small, humble place which we appreciated. The host was friendly and went over and above by giving us a lift back to our hotel which we appreciated as it was dark and raining. Highly recommended.
